Mug-nificent Designs

Join us for this special 2-part, 5-week workshop dedicated to making and decorating wheel-thrown mugs. This course guides students step-by-step through the process of throwing cylinders, refining forms, attaching handles, and exploring a variety of surface design techniques to personalize their work.

Part 1: Throwing & Assembling Mugs

Students will learn the fundamentals of creating mugs on the wheel, including centering, shaping, trimming, and handle attachment. Whether you’re new to the wheel or looking to strengthen your skills, personalized instruction will help you build confidence and create a finished mug from start to finish.

Part 2: Surface Decoration

The second half of the workshop focuses on bringing your mugs to life through surface decoration. Participants will explore techniques including sgraffito, mishima, underglaze painting, slip trailing, texture building, and wax-resist glazing, giving you the opportunity to experiment and develop your own unique style.


Skill Level: No experience needed! This workshop is suitable for beginner to intermediate level potters.
