BOB HART: SPEAK FOR THE TREES

August 9 - September 7th

In this solo exhibition, artist Bob Hart invites viewers into a tactile conversation with the natural world—one shaped by bark-like surfaces, layered details, and forms meant to be held, used, and cared for. Through teapots, cups, candlesticks, and vessels, Hart blends multiple techniques to echo the textures and quiet resilience of forests, prairies, swamps, and shores. Each piece becomes both object and message: a reminder of the fragile ecosystems that sustain us and a call to action to protect them.

Rooted in a lifelong connection to nature forged in the foothills of West Virginia, Hart’s multidisciplinary practice integrates decades of craft exploration—from woodwork and film photography to the ceramic traditions he has studied and taught across the country. His works in this exhibition extend his commitment to stewardship, urging visitors to volunteer, speak up, and give back to the environments that cannot defend themselves.
