Glaze Formulation Workshop

Ever wondered what goes into making glazes? Now is your chance to find out! Discover a new world of glaze-making and take your ceramic art to new heights in this 6-Week Glaze Formulation Workshop! Your instructor, Adrian, will guide you step-by-step in creating, formulating, and testing your very own glaze recipes.

Week 1: Introduction to glaze materials and recipes

Week 2: Formulate glaze with a provided recipe

Week 3: Find a recipe to recreate

Week 4: Formulate your VERY OWN glaze recipe!

Week 5: Create a lowfire raku glaze

Week 6: Raku firing!

By the end of this workshop, you will confidently be able to turn dry material into your new favorite glaze!


Skill Level: This workshop is ideal for those who have a solid background in ceramics and would like to level-up their skill set.

  • You'll learn:

    • Glaze safety

    • What materials go into glazes to create a range of colors and effects

    • How to create and formulate your own glazes

    • How to create and use test tiles

    • Raku firing!


    What Happens After?
    Your pieces will be fired and ready 1-2 weeks after the conclusion of your workshop.

    Open Studio Access for Students (outside of class):

    Monday to Friday: 10:00pm–5:00pm

    Saturday & Sunday: 10:00–4:00pm

    Your pieces must be picked up within 30 days or they will become The Clay Co-op property.

  • COLLECTING YOUR WORK

    Your pieces must be picked up within 30 days at the end of the workshop or they will become The Clay Co-op property.

    LIABILITY

    The Clay Co-op and its employees are not liable or responsible for any accidental injury to students or any loss or damage to personal possessions.

    PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEO

    The Clay Co-op reserves the right to take photographs and video footage during classes that may include students and to use the photographs and videos for the purpose of advertising our classes in all media in perpetuity and without payment to students.

    INFORMING OTHER PARTICIPANTS OF TERMS & CONDITIONS

    It is the responsibility of the person booking the class to inform other students participating of the Terms & Conditions.

    FINISHED WORK

    All care is taken to ensure students' pieces are made well, however, due to the inherent nature of this medium, Clay Co-op cannot be held responsible for any undesirable outcomes, including crackage, breakage, misfires, or something not turning out how you hoped.

  • Refunds will only be given if the request is made one week prior to the beginning of the class or workshop. There is a $25.00 non-refundable fee. No refunds will be issued after that time if a student withdraws. If The Co-op cancels a class or workshop up to the date of the first class for any reason, we will issue a full refund or credit.

    Class attendance is not mandatory. The Clay Co-op will not issue refunds for missed classes. Make up classes are not available. Students are encouraged to utilize open studio hours to catch up on work. Instructors will review all missed material in the following workshop class.
