Private Lesson

Discover the joy of working with clay in a personalized two-hour private pottery lesson, tailored just for you (or you and a partner). Whether you’re a complete beginner curious to try pottery for the first time, someone looking to refine your skills, or a couple wanting to enjoy a creative and hands-on experience together, this lesson is designed to meet your needs.

You’ll receive one-on-one instruction, learning techniques such as wheel throwing or hand-building at your own pace. The session is flexible—focused on helping you create something unique while building confidence and creativity in the process.

Perfect for individuals seeking focused guidance, or for couples wanting a fun and memorable activity, this private class ensures plenty of personal attention and time to explore clay in a relaxed, supportive environment.

$120 per person, per session

  • What's included:   Expert tuition, aprons, all materials and tools, glazes and kiln firing,  – whatever you need will be provided. Whether it's mastering lidded forms, tackling larger pieces, honing your production techniques, or perfecting pitchers, bring your reference image, and our expert instructors will guide you in bringing your vision to life. If a little clay gets on your clothes, don’t worry, it comes right out with water. And if a little clay gets on your skin, think of it as a natural exfoliant. So dress comfortably and have fun. 

    Once you're done,  we'll professionally finish and apply our studio glaze to your creations, your piece will be fired in a kiln and ready for pick up 10 days later. Your creation is food safe & dishwasher friendly.

  • COLLECTING YOUR WORK
    Once your pieces have been glazed (usually within 10 days of your class), you can come pick them up! Please call ahead of time so we can make sure your work is ready.

    Your pieces must be picked up within 30 days or they will become The Clay Co-op property.

    LIABILITY

    The Clay Co-op and its employees are not liable or responsible for any accidental injury to students or any loss or damage to personal possessions.

    PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEO

    The Clay Co-op reserves the right to take photographs and video footage during classes that may include students and to use the photographs and videos for the purpose of advertising our classes in all media in perpetuity and without payment to students.

    INFORMING OTHER PARTICIPANTS OF TERMS & CONDITIONS

    It is the responsibility of the person booking the class to inform other students participating of the Terms & Conditions.

    FINISHED WORK

    All care is taken to ensure students' pieces are made well, however, due to the inherent nature of this medium, Clay Co-op cannot be held responsible for any undesirable outcomes, including crackage, breakage, misfires, or something not turning out how you hoped.

  • Refunds will only be given if the request is made 24 hours prior to the beginning of the class or workshop. There is a $25.00 non-refundable fee for cancellations made within 24 hours of the class. Class cancellations or rescheduling within 24 hours of the class will require a payment of $20.

    If The Co-op cancels a class or workshop up to the date of the first class for any reason, we will issue a full refund or credit.

    Class attendance is not mandatory. The Clay Co-op will not issue refunds if a registered student misses class(es). Make-ups are permitted, but not guaranteed. All make-ups must be scheduled ahead of time with the office and can only be scheduled if there is room in a similar class. Make-ups must happen prior to a new session beginning. Students are allowed no more than two make-up classes per session.
